Hello!

Welcome to Mikkys Tips.

I am just starting this blog to post my tips each day and to track my progress over the long term. I have spent a lot of time around horse racing and studying different systems and tipsters, trying to find out what works and what doesn't and at the end of the day it comes down to being sensible and realising there is so much volatility in the horse racing game that you need to becareful.

How do I choose my nags?

I now pretty much stick to the two most successful systems that I personally have found. You will be able to see for yourself how it goes.

Method 1: Is a form based selection method. I have created a system, loosely based around other systems, that worked well for me and stuck with it.

Method 2: is again a rating system based around a whole lot of factors, I basically rate every horse in the race, based on certain factors I feel are important, each facotr carries a score. I then select the highest rated horse, as long as it is clear rated above the others by at least 50 points.

There are two types of races I never touch, Sellers and Claimers and one that I'll only touch on now and again and that is novice races.

Remember, horse racing is not about the short term, you need to find a sustainable ROI over the long term to be successful.

How Much to Bet?

Whatever your bankroll, whether it be £10000 or £50, split it into 100 parts. Each single part is known as 1 point. i.e. 10,000 = £100 for 1 point. £50 = 1 point 50p. etc etc. In reality when you are trying out any new system you should ideally just paper trade it first to figure out whether it's actually a viable system.

Where to bet?

Well thats upto you, but I highly reccomend a bookie who gives you Best Odds Guaranteed. This way you can get your bets on early and if the horse drifts out in price you will still get the SP and if the horse gets backed in you already have the best price. It's pretty much a win-win from a punting point of view.

Apart from all that I hope I can provide you with some decent winners! :)
